PERRYTON (formerly of Bridgeport) -- Anita Joyce Shipley, 74, a retired receptionist, went to be with our Lord Monday, Oct. 26, 2009 in Perryton, Texas.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: East Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Rev. Larry Potts will officiate. Pallbearers: Randy Blodgett, Brent King, G. W. Grover, Jimmy Newton, Clyde Gachter, Mickey Ray, and Bill Ray.
Anita Joyce Shipley was born on May 14, 1935, the daughter of Orlan and Evilla (Adams) Kaker, in Decatur. She married Jerry Mack Shipley on May 11, 1952 in Bridgeport. Joyce was a receptionist at the Bridgeport Clinic for Dr. Hud and Dr. Bryant. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Perryton and a member of the Volunteer Ochiltree Auxillary R.S.V.P. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are: son, Mike Shipley and wife Connie of Tularosa, New Mexico; daughters, Debbie Blodgett and husband Richard of Perryton, and Brenda Downing and husband Billy of Childress; grandchildren: Kacee Grover and husband G.W., Brent King and wife Jennifer, Jennifer Shipley, Bekah Shipley, Chesnea Davis and husband Michael, Randy Blodgett and wife Kris Ann; great grandchildren: Jarah, Landen, Eddie Ray, Christina, Ryan, Chelsea; brother, Tommy Kaker and wife Ann of Jacksboro.
