Anna Merl (Reeves) Spann

Decatur ~ Anna Merl Spann, 89, went to be with our Lord Monday, September 30, 2019 in Decatur.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Hawkins Funeral Home chapel in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Rev. Gary Demmitt will officiate. Pallbearers will include James Hubbard, Brice Swafford, Ryan Lyles, Hunter Grundy, London Grundy, and Coleton Spann.
Anna was born on April 8, 1930 to Obie Lee and Anna Lee (Malcolm) Reeves in Decatur, Texas. She was united in marriage to Joseph Odell Spann on May 10, 1958 in Marietta, Oklahoma. Anna was a retired hairdresser, and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bridgeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Spann; her daughter Eva North; her son, Murray Spann; her grandson, Shawn Grundy.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Diana Jo Spann of Dallas; her son, Leland Paul Spann of Decatur; her grandson, Coleton Paul Spann and wife Julie of Denton; her granddaughter, Brenda Grundy of Decatur; her great-grandchildren, London and Hunter Grundy; and a host of friends.
