Ervin (Shorty) Robinson

Memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd.

Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate.

Shorty was born on December 22, 1952 to Pleasant , Sr. and Marylee (Oldham) Robinson in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and was proud to do many charitable acts for them.

Shorty was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jimmy Robinson; and his infant sister, Roseletta Robinson.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Mike Robinson of Newark; his daughters, Crystal Robinson of Lake Worth and Destiny Robinson of Azle; his brothers, Lowell and Dan Robinson both of Newark; his sisters, Sheila Downing of Azle, Joyce Tedrow of Boyd and DeeAnn Waldrop of Newark; 5 grandchildren; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Shorty, My very dear and best friend, you will not have died in vain. Now you and the world will know how much you are loved and what kind of a person you were. You have been so truly missed, but not forgotten. In the movie "The Shawshank Redemption" I think the words "Red" said say best my feeling towards you "I have to remind myself that Some birds are not meant to be caged their feathers are just too bright, and when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice, but still the place you live is just that much more gray, I guess i just miss my friend"
