Runaway Bay ~ Jamie Ellison, 58, a self employed contract pumper, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2011 in Decatur.
Funeral is 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Runaway Bay Community Church. Rev. Ollin Collins will officiate. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home. Graveside service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Glen Rest Cemetery Big Lake, Texas. Mike Elkins will officiate with Buddy Helms assisting. Family will receive friend at the VFW Hall in Big Lake following the graveside service.
Jamie was born on November 14, 1952 to Beyrl and Deenie (Wright) Ellison in San Angelo. He married Marsha Proffitt on August 22, 1970 in Big Lake, Texas. Jamie was a member of Runaway Bay Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jason Beyrl Ellison; and his brother, Gaylon Ellison.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are wife of 40 years, Marsha Ellison of Runaway Bay; his sons, Jeramie Ellison and wife Lynae of Dallas, Jefferie Ellison and wife Kala of Arlington; his 4 grandchildren, Travis, Aley, Charlie, Joss, and 2 on the way; his sisters, Patsy Pope and husband Billy of Comanche, Texas, Carolyn Drennan and husband Wayne of San Angelo, Linda Low and husband Wayne of Sterling City; other numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of friends. Donations may be made to charities of choice.
