WIZARD WELLS -- Otha Dee "Whacker" Milton, 81, a retired locksmith for North Texas State University, went to be with our Lord Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at his home.

Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at First Baptist Church, Joplin. Officiating: Dr. Loury Drue Nero. Graveside: 3 p.m. Wednesday, Belew Cemetery, north of Aubrey. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Eric Finley, Curtis Smith, Joshua Carter, Gary Carter, Jimmy Vestal, James Morrow, Jordan Bennett, Steven Mock.

Mr. Milton was born May 16, 1926 in Aubrey, TX to John D. and Sudie Mae Sanders Milton. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in WWII. Mr. Milton was preceded in death by his wife, Oleta Arlene Wilson, and wife, Iva Dell Lee, granddaughter, Heather Leann Finley and son-in-law, Thomas Holmes Finley. He married Connie Brown Sept. 23, 2000 in Wizard Wells. Mr. Milton was a member of the First Baptist Church of Joplin.

Left behind to cherish his memory is: His wife: Connie Milton of Wizard Wells; his 5 children, Gwendolyn Finley of Cedar Creek Lake, Ronald Dee Milton and wife Guyneithe of Moss Lake, Deirdre Cutarelli and husband John of Cardington, Ohio, Suzi Carter and husband Gary of Weatherford, Curtis Smith and wife Bobette Decatur; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. Marshall Leon Milton and wife Modell of Denton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
