HALTOM CITY -- Ruth Caruthers, 81, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday in Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: Paradise Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Caruthers was a member of Birdville Baptist Church. She was a proud supporter of all youth sports and activities, a member of the Birdville PTA, a lifetime member of the Haltom High Athletic Booster Club and a volunteer for the March of Dimes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Dora Wisdom Armstrong; a grandson, Sterling Hallmark; brother, Jack Armstrong; and her Aunt Leacie, who raised her and her brothers. Survivors: Husband of 62 years, Carl L. Caruthers; daughter, Carla Reneau and husband, Max; sons, Ronnie Caruthers and wife, Dana, Terry Caruthers and wife, Pam, and Jerry Caruthers and wife, Lori; grandchildren, Lori, Ronna and husband Gary, Clay and wife Cherie, Shane, Justin and wife Laura, Hallie, Carlie, Tom, Jon and wife Heather; great-grandchildren, Koby, Camryn, Cayton and Rylee; and brother, Ivan Armstrong. Pallbearers will be : Brent Barker, Justin Caruthers, Jeff Barker, Clay Caruthers, Gary Hunt, and Shane Caruthers.
