BLUE MOUND -- Abner Thomas "Tom" Bolin, 88, a retired maintenence man for Trinity Portland Cement in Fort Worth, went to be with our Lord Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 at his home in Blue Mound.

Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd. Burial: Boyd Cemetery. Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Reverend Jimmy Withers to officiate. Pallbearers: Randy Harris, Tommy White, John Gilbert, Tracy Harris, Travis White, Russell Mize, Mark White and Jeff Nash.

Tom was born Dec. 22, 1920 in Drop, Texas to Alfred Anderson and Ida Clara (Wilson) Bolin. After serving in the Army during World War II, he married Ray Nell Stokes, Dec. 31, 1945 in Decatur. Tom was a member of the Aurora Baptist Church. Upon his retirement, he and Ray Nell bought a motor home and loved to travel.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law John Y. "Mo" Gilbert; 3 sisters, Ethel Earnest, Freida Pitts and Jessie Mae Followill; 2 brothers, J.T Bolin and Alfred A. Bolin, Jr.

Those left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 63 years, Ray Nell of Blue Mound; daughters, Sandra Padgett and husband Jim of Blue Mound, Donna White and husband Tommy of Blue Mound, Sharon Kay Gilbert of Eagle Mountain; son, Randy Carl Bolin of Burleson; 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Palmer of Fort Worth; brother, Virgil Bolin of Newark; numerous nieces and nephews and his four legged friend, Troubles.
