Chico: Abner Lee Woods, 45, went to be with our Lord on Monday, June 29, 2009 in Chico.
Graveside service is 10 a.m. Friday, July 3rd at Oaklawn Cemetery with Reverend Gerre Joiner officiating. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Abner was born on August 14, 1963, in Whitewright, Texas to Roy Edward and Bernice Jean (Foshee) Woods. He worked for J. R. Thompson Company in Gainesville as a heavy equipment operator.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Glenda Johnson of Chico; three daughters, Amber Lee Howard and husband, Kenny Joe of Decatur; Taten Gregg of Chico; Tayla Johnston of Chico; son, Steven Keith Goode of Decatur; sister, Laurie Warren and husband, Charlie of Boyd; three brother, John Mitchell of Alvord, Gary Smith of North Carolina, Kenneth Smith of Jackson, Mississippi; sister, Gayle Ann Smith of Dennison, Texas; three grandchildren and 1 on the way; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
