BOWIE: Addie Mae Selden, 92, a homemaker went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, May 5, 2010 in Bridgeport.

Graveside Service: 10 AM Saturday at Elmwood Cemetery, Bowie.

Visitation: 6-8 PM Friday at the Hawkins Funeral Home and 12 PM Saturday, after the graveside service, at Pleasant View Baptist Church.

Rev. Gary Dimmitt to officiate. Pallbearers: Race Cargile, Blake Tims, Charlie Saffold, Spencer Tims, Austin Bell, and Rick Hatten.

Addie was born December 4, 1917 to Francis and Essie Sewell Deweber in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bowie. Addie married Charlie Tims, November 27, 1935 in Waurika, Oklahoma, after his passing in 1970, she married Walter Selden in 1983 who preceded her in death in 2005.

Addie was preceded in death by her husbands; her son, Arnold Tims; daughter, Gaytha Saffold; sisters, Malie Rudd, Mildred Privett; and a brother, Bill Deweber.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Loquieta Joy of Dallas, Berniece Landers and husband Reese of Bridgeport; grandchildren, Race Cargile, Cana Duffy, Karen Culpepper, Lisa Pullen, Karla Hatten, Blake Tims, Charlie Saffold, Samatha Remington; 21 great grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Juanita Hilburn of Bowie; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.


A second Mom to me as a child, partially reared in their home, and am pleased to remember her and the entire family. Son Arnold was especially beautiful in God's sight and was my close friend. Max G. Latham, MD
