Albert Darrell "Al" Wetsel

Decatur ~ Albert Darrell “Al” Wetsel, 86, went to be with our Lord Friday, October 4, 2019 in Decatur.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Hawkins Funeral Home chapel in Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home.

Dr. David Lowrie will officiate.

Al was born on April 7, 1933 to Albert and Media (Helm) Wetsel in Wingate, Texas. He was united in marriage to Joyce Esther Reynolds on December 26, 1954 in Milford, Massachusetts. Al was a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur. He proudly served our country in the United States Marines.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Joyce Esther Wetsel; and his sister, Betty Allen.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Brenda Reber of Flower Mound; his son, Barry Wetsel of Fort Worth; his grandchildren, Michelle Barker and husband Tim of Flower Mound, and Garrett Reber of Florida; his great-grandchildren, Lilah and Eli; his brother, Charles Wetsel; extended family and a host of friends.
