Decatur ~ Alice Ruth (Burke) Millican, 100, of Decatur went to be with her Lord Saturday, January 25, 2020 in Decatur, Texas.
Funeral service is 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor David Lowry officiating. Graveside will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Chappel Cemetery in San Saba County. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Pallbearers include Josh Perkins, Jacob Millican, Ryan Tharp, Zachary Millican, Rit Milliman and Bill Woolsey. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons and wives, Dept. 7 & 8 Sunday School of First Baptist Church of Decatur.
Ruth was born June 4, 1919 in Cherokee, Texas and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 25, 2020. She retired from Texas American Bank (formerly Forth Worth National Bank). She had been a member of American Institute of Banking; an active member of Decatur First Baptist Church and Department 8 Sunday School. Her ministry had been in “Women on Mission” and member of The Prayer Room since 1994.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mansfield (Manse) Millican, and her parents Marvin and Mary Ella Holt Burke, sisters Lois Burke and Bessie Burke, brothers Edward Burke and Thurman Burke, son in law Garry Perkins, granddaughter Lauren Millican and brother-in-law Lester Kufahl.
She is survived by daughter Marcy Perkins, son Ron Millican and wife Vickie; son Scott Millican and wife Pam; grandchildren Josh Perkins and wife Mary; Jamie Milliman and husband Rit; Jacob Millican and wife Stephanie; Zachary Millican and wife Jen Williams; Ryan Tharp and wife Amy and Hilary Millican. Great grandsons Derrick Minor, Trey Milliman and Elliot Tharp. Great Granddaughters Macayla Perkins, Hannah Milliman, Zadie Tharp and Aubree Millican. Sister Kathleen Kufahl, of Pasco, Washington and many nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.
The family request if you so desire to make a donation to Women on Mission's FBC of Decatur, Chappel Cemetery Association of San Saba and American Suicide Prevention.
