Alice Pearl Simpson

Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Boyd with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Rev. T.B. Reid will officiate, assisted by Rev. Jimmy Arrington. Pallbearers are Harold Lisby, Andy Chapman, Tommy Smith, Mike Richardson, Edward Goldman, and Shane Smith. Honorary pallbearer is Buddy Hunt.

Alice was born on January 12, 1933 to William and Georgia Beulah (Smith) Smith in Wise County, Texas. She was united in marriage to Bill Simpson on May 7, 1954 at the Assembly of God Church in Boyd. She was a butcher and meat wrapper for 25 years at Boyd Locker Plant. Alice was a member of the Boyd Assembly of God Church in Boyd and then the Family Worship Center in Decatur.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Bill Simpson; her sisters, Bernice Lisby and Opal Goldman.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Jerry Simpson and wife Jennie; her daughter, Patricia Burdine and husband David; her grandchildren, Justin Simpson, Jardin Simpson, Lonnie Hambrick, John Hambrick, and Angel Burdine; her brother, George Smith and wife Rose Anne; her sister, Sharon Chapman; other family members and a host of friends.
