Allen Lee Shaffer

Bridgeport ~ Allen Lee Shaffer, 81, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, September 18, 2018 in Granbury.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2018 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with private family burial. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Bridgeport.

Rev. Drew Travis will officiate.

Allen was born on May 25, 1937 to James Bryan and Lola (Dunn) Shaffer in Handley, Texas. He was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Evans on November 21, 1975 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Allen proudly served his county as a soldier in the United States Army. He was also a printer and pressman for Royal Business Forms where he was employed for 45 years. Allen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Granbury.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Ruth Roberts; his brothers, Mack Shaffer and Larry Paul Shaffer; and his sister.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Shirley Ann Shaffer of Granbury; his daughters, Suzanne Shaffer of Lancaster and Gloria Lynn Shaffer of Fairfax City, Virginia; his son, Timothy Helton and wife Maria Bradley of Joshua; his daughters Denice Smith of Montclair, California and Teresa Herring and husband Ricky of Hubbard; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; his brothers, Leonard Jack Shaffer and wife Isabel of Arlington and Bobby Shaffer of Mineola; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
