BOYD....Allen Maurice Splawn, 89, a retired electronics technician from General Dynamics, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 in Decatur.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: Boyd Cemetery. Family to receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.
The Reverend Dale Noska to officiate. Pallbearers: Michael Jolly, David Jolly, Bobby Jolly, Jimmy Waters, Kevin Splawn, and Jeff White.
Allen was born on September 25, 1920 to Benjamin and Ludie (Warren) Splawn in Boyd. He graduated from Boyd High School in 1939 and served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Allen married Syble June Rose on July 19, 1974, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She preceded him in death in 2008.
He was also preceded by a sister, Bobbi Henderson and an infant sister.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Sheila Jolly and husband Bobby of North Richland Hills; 2 sons, Clifford Splawn and wife Margarett of Bridgeport, Randy Splawn and wife Brenda of Boyd; 8 grandchildren, Michael, David, Staci, Christopher, Christina, Gary, Brandy, Kevin; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 3 sisters, Glennella Whitaker of White Settlement, Florene Wade of Lake Worth, Yonnell Colvert of New Mexico; 2 brothers, Windell Splawn, Sr. of Fairview, Billy Splawn of Azle; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
