Decatur ~ Alma Rae Elsom, 86, went to be with our Lord Saturday, April 9, 2022.
Graveside Service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Oaklawn Pavilion. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur.
David Lowrie will officiate, music lead by Gerre Joiner.
Alma was born May 18, 1935 to Ray V. and Lena (Gray) Edwards in Sunset, Texas. She was united in marriage February 23, 1952 to Claud Porter Elsom, Jr. in Teral, Oklahoma, married 61 years till his passing in 2013. Alma graduated Alvord High School and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Decatur. She was a devoted homemaker, beloved mother, Granny, sister, aunt and friend to many who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Lena Edwards; her husband, Claud Elsom, Jr.; and daughter, Linda Lambert.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Claud “Buz” Elsom and wife Jan of Decatur; grandchildren, Chanci Nicks and husband Mason, Mark Lambert and wife Annesly, Michael Lambert and wife Erin, and Tom Elsom; Great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Reagan, Evelyn, Lucy, Annette, Millie, Hank, Amelia, Owen, and Connor; her sister, Wanda Sanford; sister-in-law, Beth Stockton; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
