Decatur: Angel Martinez, 80, a retired farmer, went to be with our Lord, Sunday, August 29, 2010 in Denton.
Graveside service is 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 1st in Oaklawn Cemetery with Father Sojan George officiating. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include: Joel Martinez, Ismael Martinez, Antonio Martinez, Saul Martinez, Ruben Martinez and Abel Rico.
Angel was born May 13, 1930 in Rio Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico to Juan and Maria Trinidad Herrera Martinez. He was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic church.
Left behind to cherish his memory are sons; Antonio Martinez and wife, Maria of Ft. Worth, Ismael Martinez and husband, Adela of Bowie, Ruben Martinez of Denton, Joel Martinez and Erica Marin of Decatur, Saul Martinez and wife, Ana of Decatur; Miguel Angel Martinez of Ciudad Juarez Chihuahua. Daughters, Maria Dolores Martinez, Maria DeLos Angeles Martinez and Isabel Lopez both of Ciudad Juarez Chihuahua, Maria DeJesus Ramos and Felix Ramos of Bakerville, California, and Olga Martinez and Abel Rico of Sanger.
Angel was preceded in death by parents, and wife, Maria De La Luz Martinez on January 20, 2005.
