CHICO -- Anita Laverne Dickson, 82, a retired waitress, went to be with our Lord Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, in Weatherford.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008 at Hawkins Funeral Home. Interment: Chico Cemetery. Officiating: Rev. Craig Erb. Visitation: 6 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Carmen Martinez, Lester Dickson, Jr., Wayne Dickson, Danny Fossett, Sammy Fossett, Kevin Martinez. Anita was born Aug. 30, 1925 in Anadarko, OK to Lester A. and Pearl Simpson Haney. She was preceded in death by her parents: her husbands, Lester C. Dickson and Manual Martinez: her 2 grandsons, Stanley Poynor and Shane Layton; 2 brothers, Earl and Bobby Haney; and sister, Betty Jean Fossett. Anita had lived in the Chico community since 1981 was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chico.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her 3 sons, Lester Dickson, Jr. and wife Kathie of California, Wayne Dickson and wife Jo of Oklahoma and Carmen Martinez and wife Denise of Mineral Wells; her 3 daughters, Linda Largent of Weatherford, Elizabeth Martinez and husband Dempsey of Sunset and Debbie Layton of Washington; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
