Chico ~ Anita Jean Whitson, 46, a registered nurse, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in Chico.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 14th at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pastor Earnest Patterson will officiate. Pallbearers will be the Wise County EMS, Darin Glisson, Mike Martinez, Bryan Massey, Danny Price, Brandon Sutter, and Jerry Taylor.
Anita was born on December 1, 1965 to Joe and Jean (Dane) Clark in Morton, Texas. She was united in marriage to Kenny Whitson on March 20, 1988 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Anita was a member at the Baptist Church in Chico.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 24 years, Kenny Whitson of Chico; her parents, Joe Clark of Chico and Jean Greer and husband Gerald of Chico; her son, Joey Whitson of Chico; her daughter, Jamie Whitson of Mineral Wells; her stepson, Jerry Whitson; her stepdaughter, Chrisy Whitson; her granddaughter, Lacy; her brother, Donny Clark and wife Lori of Chico; her stepbrothers, William and Gerald Greer; her stepsister, Tonya Henton; other family members and a host of friends.

Rhonda and I are saddened for the loss of our Dear Anita. She was a shining light to all who worked with her. She was particularily helpful to me and I appreciate immensely everytime she lifted her hands to help me. We all will miss her daily. God's Blessings on the Family.

I know Anita is giving hugs to Angels in Heaven right now... An angel on earth, she has gone Home to be hugged by our Lord every day for Eternity. Although I knew her only a short time, her warm smile and natural kindness gave me encouragement in humanity. Society, and the profession of nursing, has suffered a great loss.
