Ann S. Henderson

Decatur ~ Ann S. Henderson, 91, a retired rancher and homemaker, went to be with our Lord Saturday, May 4, 2024 in Decatur.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2024 at First United Methodist Church of Decatur with burial in Joplin Fairview Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Rev. Dr. Nick McRae and Rev. Johnny Irish will officiate. Pallbearers include Michael Benton, Travis Stephan, James Stephan, Jason Goodell, Michael Buckley, and Stephen Smotherman.

Ann was born on July 31, 1932 to Jess and Alta Swetnam in Wizard Wells, Texas. She was united in marriage to Bob Henderson on November 4, 1950 in Jacksboro. Ann was a life-long Methodist and a member of First United Methodist Church of Decatur.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years; her parents; her sisters, Bobbie and Jessie; and her daughter, Kay Benton.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Bob “Pete” Henderson, Jr. and wife Linda of Burleson, and Jim Henderson and wife Sherry of Decatur; her daughters, Pat Hatcher and husband Randy of Denton, Kathi Stephan and husband Don of Willow Park, and Kay’s husband, David of Benbrook; her grandchildren, Rebecca, Christy, Suzie, Michelle, Mike, Travis, James, and Charo; 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
