Ann (Shands) Morgan

Ann Shands Morgan, 87, formerly of Decatur, a missionary, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, November 10, 2015.
Funeral service 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn cemetery in Decatur. Family visitation will be 1 hour prior to service Saturday at First United Methodist Church. Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
Monte Martin and Zak Landis will officiate. Pallbearers include Morgan Stone, Jordan Stone, Ryan Stone, Carl Morgan, Wesley Jack Morgan, Jim Morgan, and Robert Morgan.
Ann was born on February 13, 1928 to Henry G.“Pete” and Janie (Hopson) Shands in San Marcos, Texas. She was united in marriage to Jack Garrott Morgan June 12, 1948 in Denton. Ann was a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Morgan.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Roberts Shands Morgan of Wichita Falls, and James William Morgan and wife Cathy of N. Richland Hills; her daughters, Margaret Jane “Meg” Morgan of Tyler, and Nancy Ann Martin and husband Monte of Hoover, Alabama; her sister, Jane Shands England and husband John of Dallas; her sister-in-law, Linda Brownlee and husband Woody of Garland; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
