Anna Lee (Mcdaniel) Deaton

February 7, 1928 — June 28, 2017

Bridgeport ~ Anna Lee McDaniel Deaton, of Bridgeport, Texas was born on February 7, 1928, to Richard Dow and Florance Winford (Sanders) McDaniel, the 9 th of 16 children, in Wise County, Texas.  She passed away on June 28, 2017 in Bridgeport.  She was 89 years old.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday June 30, 2017 at Bible Baptist Church in Bridgeport with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery.  Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Rev. Dale Webster will officiate.  Pallbearers are Larry McDaniel, Lynn Smith, Brice Aydelott, Raylen Read, Rick Read, and Mike Deaton.  Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Mask, Charlie Deaton, Ricky Read, and Bobby Carpenter.

Anna married the love of her life, Jessie James Deaton, on December 29, 1945.  They made their home in and around Bridgeport for all of their married years.  Bridgeport is where a lifetime of wonderful memories was made.  She loved her Lord, her Mate, her Church and her really large family.  Anna was a charter member of Bible Baptist Church, Bridgeport, serving her Lord there for 71 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her siblings, Pearl Maxine Martin, Artie Mae Weatherly, Essie Lou Grisham, Hubert Richard McDaniel, Gwendolyn Esta Parsons, Cecil Cordell McDaniel, James Sylvester McDaniel, Ellis Rvon McDaniel, Florance Bernice Dixson, Millard Leon McDaniel, Larkin Don McDaniel, Tommy Jack McDaniel, and Bessie Nell Bode.

Among those who will cherish her memory include her children, Patricia Sue Deaton of Bridgeport and Rebecca Jane and husband James Smith of Jacksboro; her grandchildren, James Lynn and wife Stacie Smith of Wellington, Valeria Rajane and husband Rodney Read of Bridgeport, and Janice Lanell and husband David Inman of Jacksboro; her great grandchildren, Jon Raylen Read, Victoria Lynn Aydelott, Donavon Brice Aydelott, Carter Lynn Smith, and Jackson Lynn Smith; our sweet extras, Brooklyn, Blake and Christian; her sisters, Cora Beth Read of Paradise and Janice Faye Garrett of Bridgeport; her sisters-in-law, Evelyn McDaniel of Bridgeport, Frankie Elam of Azle and Joyce McDaniel of Bridgeport; nieces and nephews and many other extended family and friends.

Anna's favorite Bible verse was her example of how life should be lived:

This is the day that the Lord hath made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.
