Anna "Loyce" (Neighbors) Garrett

Alvord ~ Anna “Loyce” Garrett, 82, went to be with our Lord Sunday, November 5th, 2023.

Funeral Service is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9th, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Alvord with burial at Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Bill Cleveland and Greg Shaw will officiate. Pallbearers include Eddie Hale, Danny Neighbors, David Richey, Mike Shaw, Tim Yale, Terry Redman, and Greg Bruner.

Loyce as all knew her was born July 19, 1941 to Lester and Louise Neighbors in Decatur, Texas. She was united in marriage July 5th, 1958 to Pat Leslie Garrett in Gainesville, Texas. Loyce was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Louise Neighbors; her son, Eddy Ray Garrett; 2 granddaughters, Taylor Garrett and Leslie Hampton Curry; a great-granddaughter, Faith Curry; 2 sisters, Joyce Shaw, and Helen Yale.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 65 years, Pat Garrett of Alvord; her daughter, Mary Hampton and husband, Tommy of Alvord; 3 grandchildren, Lariat Garrett, Chance Garrett, and Travis Hampton; 2 great-grandchildren, Lyrick Curry, and Hunter Garrett; a brother, Melton Neighbors and wife Doris “Cookie”; brother-in-law’s, Marion Yale, and Darrell Shaw; a sister-in-law, Belva Garrett; extended family members and a host of friends.
