Decatur ~ Annabel Thomas, 98, a retired credit manager with Zales, passed away Wednesday, December 11th, 2019 in Decatur, Texas.
Annabel was born January 31, 1921 to Robert and Mary Frances Rogers in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. She married Earl Thomas in 1941 and were long-time residents of Apache, Oklahoma. In 1994, they made their home in Decatur. Annabel worked and retired from Zales Jewelry for 30 years and was an avid quilter and baker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her parents; her grandson, Scott Eady of Ft. Worth; siblings, Alvin Rogers of Ft. Worth, Herman and Pete Rogers both of Bakersfield, California, Edna Mitchell of Coronado, California, and Edith Dahl of Apache.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Earlene Eady and husband Demoin of Decatur, and Marlene Hall and husband Russ of Russellville, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren, Sherri Moran and husband Robert of Yukon, Oklahoma, DeeAnn Anumel and husband James of Grand Prairie, Michelle Maddox and husband Scott of El Paso, Arkansas, Tracey Eady of Bedford, Leslie Dickinson and husband Bart of Little Rock, Arkansas; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; 2 sisters, Vestal Southwick and Mary Hooker of Bakersfield, California; her sister-in-law, Connie Rogers of Bakersfield, California; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to express special gratitude to the compassionate and caring staff of both Decatur Medical Lodge and Solaris Hospice.
