Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 at Alvord Church of Christ with Chester Cullum and Sonny Cole officiating. Interment: Perryman Cemetery near Forestburg, Texas. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Gary Covington, William Covington, Rob Covington, Gary Kelton, Keith Kelton and Mike Hatfield. Honorary Pallbearers include Davey Covington, Dakota Covington and Scott Lichtenberg.
Annette was born March 22, 1937 in Forestburg, Texas to William Carl and Bertha Eunice (Smith) Covington. She was united in marriage to Jerry Wayne Gayler on June 28, 1954 in Rockwall, Texas. She was a member of the Alvord Church of Christ since 1986. Annette was preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband of 57 years, Jerry Gayler of Alvord; son, Tony Gayler of Decatur; daughter, Sherri Hartfield of Alvord; 4 grandsons, Jason Starr Gayler and wife, Jamie of Alvord, Preston Hartfield and wife, Rebekah of Calvert, Texas, Bradley "Bubba" Hartfield and wife, Anne of Grand Prairie, and Trevor Hartfield of Alvord; granddaughter, Heather Gayler Jack and husband, Justin of Decatur; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 on the way; numerous nieces, nephews and host of friends.
