Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, June 10th at Hawkins Funeral Home. Jerry and Ben Matney will officiate. Burial was private in Jonestown Cemetery.
Faye was born January 1, 1916 to Joe Birt and Cora (Brown) Minor in Bridgeport, Texas. She married Clyde Matney on August 5, 1931 in Altus, OK. He preceded her in death along with her son, Jim Matney, 1 brother and 3 sisters.
Hampered by vision problems as a child, she achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. She worked for hospitals in Bridgeport, Decatur, Dallas, Houston and Santa Ana. She loved her organ, her church and her singing.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Jerry Matney and his wife Nedra of Surprise, AZ, Ben Matney and his wife Lanelle of Sunrise Beach, Sam
