RUNAWAY BAY -- Ava D. Barksdale, 74, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, in Decatur. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, in Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: East Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the funeral home. Ava was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Jerry, in January 2005. Survivors: Son, Andrew Barksdale of Bridgeport; daughters, Lynn Forsythe of Grand Prairie and Jana Barksdale of Shady Shores; and sister, Jeanne Hitchcock of Hollister, Calif.
