Aurora ~ Barbara Hargis Brammer, 83, a retired teacher went to be with our Lord Thursday, January 23, 2020 in Aurora.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Rhome Church of Christ with burial in Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Rev. Roy Deaver will officiate. Pallbearers include John Francis, Luke Francis, Mark Francis and Dustin Shelfer, Caleb Brammer and Ben Brammer.
Barbara was born August 20, 1936 to William Alphaeus and Eunice Priddy Hargis in Dawson, Texas. She was united in marriage April 15, 1960 to Jerry Brammer in Justin, Texas. Barbara graduated from North Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree, taught 28 years at Northwest ISD, two years at Decatur ISD and was a member of the Rhome Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Jerry Brammer of Aurora; 2 daughters, Cathy D. Francis of Ft.Worth and Karen A. Shelfer and husband Dave of Saginaw; her son, David W. Brammer and wife Kathy of Rosharon; 9 grandchildren, John, Mark and Luke Francis, Caleb, Ben and Emily Brammer, Abigal, Dustin and Katie Shelfer; a host of friends and former students.
