Barbara Jean (Davis) Jones
July 26, 1933 — March 29, 2017
Boyd ~ Barbara Jean Jones, 83, went home to be with our Lord on March 29, 2017 in Azle.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2017 at Aurora Baptist Church with burial at New Hope Cemetery in Springtown. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
Rev. Jimmy Withers will officiate. Pallbearers include David Baker, Dustin Bolin, Gary Bolin, and Dean Spahr. Honorary pallbearer is Ray Colgin.
Barbara was born July 26, 1933, to Thomas and Ruby Davis in Lockhart, Texas.
On January 3, 1950, Barbara married the love of her life Carey Sanford Jones and together raised four children.
Barbara enjoyed sewing and was an avid gardener, who loved all types of flowers. She retired from Boeing Electronics in Irving, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carey Jones; her brothers, Bobby Joe Davis and Thomas Davis; and her sister, Edna Mae Alexander.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sister, Lavada Smith; her daughters, Donna Colgin and husband Ray of Hugo, OK, Sherrie Bolin and husband Gary of Rhome, and Sharla Spahr and husband Dean of Boblingen, Germany; her son, Carey S. Jones, Jr. of Hugo, OK; her grandchildren, Donny Baker, David Baker, Deanna Baker, Chris Cates, Brian Jones, Ashley Gresham, Dustin Bolin and Kacey Thomas, as well as numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
