Boyd ~ Barbara Jean (Swinney) Luster, 73, a custodian, went to be with our Lord Sunday, March 27, 2016 in Decatur.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Pleasant Grove Cowboy Church with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel.
Pastor Brandon Henderson will officiate. Pallbearers include John Christian, Brian Price, Daniel Alvarez, Benjamin Alvarez, Dave Bowen and William Shelby. Honorary pallbearer is Gary Dickinson.
Barbara was born on December 22, 1942 to Tom and Gladys (Johnson) Swinney in Boyd. She was united in marriage to Johnny Luster on March 3, 1993 in Boyd. Barbara retired from Azle Independent School District as a custodian. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Cowboy Church.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Rodney Beard.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 23 years, Johnny Luster of Boyd; her daughter, Melissa Dickinson and husband Gary of Decatur; her sons, Brent Beard of Azle, and Jason Rogers and wife Sandra of Alvord; her grandchildren, Ammitti, Daniel, Benjamin, Steven, Justin, Ian and Bailey; her great grandchildren, Ray, Madison and Caleb; her sisters, Edith Huebner and Tommie Gillespie of Decatur; numerous other family members and a host of friends.
