Barbara Sue (White) Davis

Alvord ~ Barbara Sue Davis, 83, a wonderful wife and loving mother went to be with our Lord Friday, March 6, 2020 in Decatur, Texas.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2020 at Hopewell Baptist Church in Alvord with burial in Hopewell Cemetery.  Family will receive friends and family 1 hour prior to service at the church.

Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate.  Pallbearers include Rusty Hand, Michael McKinney, Willie Haak, Keith Johnson, Shane McKinney and Asa Hand.

Barbara was born February 14, 1937 in Sunset, Texas to James Alvin and Ehra Cordy (Raines) White.  She was united in marriage to Jerry E. Davis on December 5, 1959 in Decatur.  They were married for 53 years until his passing in 2013.  She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Alvord.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jerry Davis, her parents, brother JH White and great grandson Heath Burns.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are three daughters, Gaile Hand and husband Rusty of Park Springs, Starla Haak and husband Willie of Alvord, and Traci McKinney and husband Michael of Argyle; two sons, Bart Davis and wife Rhonda of Watauga and Justin Davis of Alvord; six grandchildren, Amy Johnson, Will Turlington, Ashton Burns, Asa Hand, Shane McKinney and Rhyle McKinney; great grandchildren, Nick Turlington, Collins Turlington, Berkley Burns, Kannon Hand, Everleigh and Emersyn Johnson; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated for playground equipment to Alvord PTO Playground Account at Legend Bank.
