Barry Joseph Steil

Wichita Falls ~ Barry Joseph Steil, 73, of Naples, Florida, went to be with our Lord on Monday, August 30th, 2021 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Memorial Service will be held at a later date to honor Barry.

Barry was born on December 5, 1947 to Robert Joseph and Marilou (Eustace) Steil in Miami, Florida. He was a veteran and proudly served his Country in the United States Army for 20 years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. Barry was united in marriage to the love of his life Magda (Acevedo) Steil on April 7th, 1968 in Panama City, Panama.

He loved spending 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, other holidays and birthdays with his family and cherished his children and grandchildren. Barry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to many.  He be missed by all that knew and loved him.  Barry loved the beach, scuba diving and working on projects with his family. He loved to laugh and joke and never took himself too seriously.  "Don't worry, be happy" was one of his life mottos. He loved playing games with his grandchildren and loved "winning" even more.

Barry was a devoted Catholic and cherished his Church families of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Balboa, Panama and St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church of Naples, Florida. He was a Lay Eucharistic Minister, a Knight of Columbus and served in the Funeral Ministry.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Maggie Steil; his two sons, Patrick Steil and wife Tyra, and Kevin Steil and wife Lisa; his nine grandchildren; his four great-grandchildren; his five brothers, Tom Steil, Kevin Steil, Robbie Steil, Randy Steil, and Tim Steil; his five sisters, Cindy Fay, Debbie Steil, Becky Shields, Denise Schaarschmidt, and Melissa Steil; numerous extended family members, nieces, nephews, and a host of good friends.
