Bedford Dawayne Kennedy

Bridgeport~ Bedford DaWayne Kennedy, 76, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, July 7, 2022 in Bridgeport.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial to follow in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home and, on Monday, 1 hour prior to the service.

Larry Fair will officiate. Pallbearers are to include Jim Bost, Jesse Paul Carpenter, Kent Kennedy, Larry Crowder, Davey Lawson, Charlie Pitts, David McComis, and Jackie Phillips. Honorary Pallbearer are to be Bill Grisham and Fred Smith.

DaWayne was born on September 22, 1945 to Bedford Arthur and Marie (Slagle) Kennedy in Bridgeport, Texas.  DaWayne was owner of Kennedy Trucking, he was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, and served Wise County as the former Honorable Justice of The Peace- Pct. 4 for several years. He married Katherine “Kathy” Marion on September 22, 1989 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They spent 32 wonderful years together making a good life and many special memories. DaWayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and good friend, who will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy Kennedy of Bridgeport; his daughter, Caprice Kennedy of Bridgeport; his son, Kelly Kennedy of Bridgeport; his son, Brandon Kennedy of Bridgeport; his daughter, Jennifer Stacey of Granbury; and his son, Jeff Wilson of Granbury; his grandchildren, Katee, Emilly, Ashley, Hollie, Trey, August, and Brayden; his great-grandchildren, Zoe, Tristan, Everleigh, Logan, and Lilly; his brother, Gaylord Kennedy and wife Brenda of Bridgeport; and his sisters, Darla Kleam and husband Randy and Carla Provence and husband Travis all of Bridgeport; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of good friends.
