Benny E. Price, 78, of Chico, a heavy equipment operator, went to be with our Lord Saturday, February 11, 2012 in Mt. Vernon.
Funeral is 1 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2012 at Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 11-12:30 p.m. Monday before the service.
Rev. David Rucker will officiate. Pallbearers include Jason Lamond, Paul Lamond, Douglas Weiss, David Price, Mike Lamond, and Keith Weiss.
Benny was born on January 6, 1934 to Henry and Anna (Carlon) Price in Bridgeport. He was in the National Guard. Benny was united in marriage to Rena Carlisle on January 5, 1952 in Decatur. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bridgeport.
He was preceded in death by his parents; baby sister; and his brother, James "Chubby" Price.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Rena Price of Mt. Vernon; his daughters, Carolyn Weiss and husband Keith of Plano, Donna Lamond and husband Mike of Mt. Vernon, Kimberley Price of Carlsbad, CA; his son, David Price of Mt. Vernon; 5 grandchildren, Angela, Jenny, Jason, Douglas and Paul; 11 great grandchildren, Alex, Zach, Jack, Chesney, Garrett, Rayley, Weston, Ty, Anastacia, Matthew and Nicholas; his brother, Ancel Price of Arlington; other relatives and a host of friends.
