BRIDGEPORT -- Ola Bernice (Becie) Phillips 92, a homemaker went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007 in Decatur.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2007 at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: East Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 Thursday. Officiating: Dr. David Burrows. Pallbearers: G.B. Funk, Robert Meek, Mark Cantrell, Cal Bayley, Trevor Meek, and Chris Funk.
Bernice was born Aug. 7, 1915 in Chico, Texas to Gayle and Annie McDaniel Wood. She was a lifetime resident of Bridgeport and a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Bridgeport. Bernice was also a member of the Esther Sunday School Class and the Bridgeport Senior Citizens.
Bernice was preceded in death by two husbands, James W. Harvick and C.D. Phillips, two sisters, Methel Meek and Opal Petty, and two brothers, Charles and Dalton Wood.
Survivors: son, Lynwood Harvick and wife Karen of Bridgeport; grandson, Jason Harvick and wife Dena of Bridgeport; granddaughter, Jayme Harvick and fiance, Jason Evans of Fort Worth; granddaughter, Kasey Lynn Walraven; a host of other relatives and friends.
