Bridgeport ~ Bernice Lee Bessire, 83, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Friday, August 18, 2017 in Decatur.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday with memorial service starting a 7:00 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport.
Bernice was born on April 27, 1934 to Bernice Jackson and Leola (Warnick) Kent in Iowa Park. She was united in marriage to Billy Joe Bessire on October 26, 1962 in Archer County, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Joe Bessire; her son, Randy Alvey; her grandson, Keith Alvey; her brother, Carl Kent; and her sister, Joy Morrison.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Tammy Young of Bridgeport; her son, Mark Bessire of Bridgeport; her grandchildren, Chandra, Shane Billy, Dawn, Josh, Rachel, Jacob, Jeremy, and Ashley; 17 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
