BURLESON -- Bertha McCasland Crosen, 71, a retired nurse, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at West Bridgeport Cemetery. Officiating: John Scott Bertha was born Aug. 18, 1935 in Bridgeport to Ancil H. and Ophelia McDaniel McCasland. She attended school in Bridgeport and earned her nursing degree in Ft. Worth at Harris Hospital. She was a dedicated nurse in various hospitals in this area for 40 years. Bertha was a loving and dedicated caregiver to her family and patients. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin, her parents, two brothers and one sister. Survivors: Sisters, Wanda Forns of Burleson and Barbara McCormick of Harpers Ferry, IA; brothers, Herman McCasland of Mart and Barney J. McCasland of Crawley; special niece, Leslie McCase of Burleson; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
