Decatur: Bessie Irene Ross Hemphill, 74, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord on May 9, 2009.
Graveside service is 10 a.m. Thursday, May 14th at the Jonestown Cemetery in Alvord, Texas with Reverend Danny Slimp. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 13th at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Danny Doyle, Dale Doyle, Harold Hemphill, Jimmy Rogers, Terry Cordar and Keith Cordar.
Bessie was born September 6, 1934 in Wilburton, Oklahoma to William Doss and Ettie Dellie (Baker) Ross. She was member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Left behind to cherish her memory are sons, Danny Doyle of Newark, Dale Doyle and wife Terri of Decatur, Rodney and Ricky Franks of Newark, Harold Hemphill of Newark; daughter, Donna Rogers and wife, Jimmy of Boyd; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great granddaugter; brothers, Billy, Charles and Robert Ross, J. B. Newland and Jim Newland.
Bessie is preceded in death by her son, Don Doyle.
