Beth Chancellor

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the First United Methodist of Alvord with Pastor Barry Jameson officiating. Interment will be in Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home. Beth was born November 1, 1945 to Horace and Nadine Head Core in Lampases, Texas. She graduated from Denton High School in 1964. Then attend college at UNT in Denton, TX. She graduated from McMurry University in 1968, and received her Masters Degree at TWU in 1978. Beth taught elementary school for 33 years, 31 of those years were at the Alvord ISD. She retired from teaching in 2001. The past 7 years she was a substitute teacher at Alvord ISD.

Beth married Ray Chancellor on May 31, 1975. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Alvord. She enjoyed teaching, reading her Danelle Steel books, making lots and lots of scrapbooks of her family, and vacationing with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Jeffery Chancellor, and grandson, Ethan Chancellor.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Patricia Davis and husband Doug, sons, Craig Chancellor and wife Joni, Scott Chancellor and wife Marni, and Mark Chancellor and wife Cindy; seven (7) grandchildren Nathan, Olivia, Kurtis, Elizabeth, Katelynn, Mallorie Chancellor, and Brandon Davis; two great-granddaughters, Maddy and Paige; sister Linda Coppage and husband Johnny; brothers-in-laws W.C. Stark and wife Diane and Charles Chancellor; sister-in-laws, Estelle Watts and husband Bobby, Rosemary Miller and husband Pat, Margaret Anderson and husband Curtis; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
