Decatur ~ Elizabeth “Bette” Roberts, 72, went to be with our Lord Thursday, December 6, 2018, in Fort Worth.
Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Louis Horton will officiate. Pallbearers include Ron Byrd, David Slimp, Jerry Brooks, Rick Read, Zach Burns, and Daniel Wycoff.
Bette was born on November 16, 1946, to Robert and Dorcas (Smith) Sillers in Oakland, California. She was united in marriage to Chuck Roberts on October 5, 1968 in Lancaster, California. Bette was a retired nurse and Christian school teacher for many years. She devoted much of her life to youth ministries. Bette made a huge impact on many teens’ lives and led many of them to Christ. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 50 years, Chuck Roberts of Decatur; her daughters, Tammy Lyn Hooper and husband Jim of Decatur, Amy Jo Wright and husband Brian of Virginia; her grandchildren, Troy Hooper, Tyler Hooper, Tucker Hooper, Trevin Hooper, Brianna Wright, and Brandon Wright; her brother, Bob Sillers of San Diego, California; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
