Betty Jean (Burkett) Atkins

Decatur ~ Betty Jean Atkins, 90, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, May 9, 2023.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers include Tony Brazell, Shelby Hicks, Troy Brazell, Richard Wolverton, and Joe Brazell.

Betty was born February 24, 1933 to Levi Calloway and Minnie Lorene (Henry) Burkett in Bluejacket, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage January 1, 1951 to Billy Tilmon Atkins in Clayton, New Mexico. Betty was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Minnie Burkett; her husband, Billy T. Atkins; her twin sister, Billie Brazell and brother, L.C. Burkett

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Terry Atkins and wife Vickie of Decatur; her daughter, Cindy Wolverton and husband Richard of Romance, Arkansas; granddaughters, Amy Hicks and husband Shelby of Decatur, Tori Wolverton, and Sienna Wolverton; her great-grandchildren, Briar Hicks, Hayes Hicks, and Kennedi Wolverton; her sisters, Dessie Gibbs, and Patsy Allen; her brother, Don Burkett; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
