CHICO -- Betty Cox Robinson, 80, a retired elementary school teacher for Bridgeport ISD and a rancher, went to be with our Lord Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at her home in Chico.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Burial: Chico Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Rev. Kenneth Wood and Rev. Jerry Carter will officiate. Pallbearers: Brad Farrell, Nathan McConaghie, Patrick McConaghie, Eddie Cox, Ernie Cox, Van Cox, Eric Cox, and Alvin Boner. Honorary pallbearers: Raymond Farrell, Billy Ralph Richey, and Paul Simmons
Betty was born on June 19, 1929, the daughter of Ernest and Linnie (Ogle) Cox, in Chico, Texas. She married Alton Royce Robinson on April 2, 1949 in Boyd. Betty was a member of the Texas Limousine Association, the Texas State Teacher's Association, and the Chico Ex-Student's Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton; her son, Alan Randall Robinson; her grandson, Asa Royce Robinson; her brother, Everett Cox; and her sister, Pharine Walker.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are: Grandchildren, Will Robinson and wife, Jennifer of Chico; Ashley Dunlap and husband, Philip of Okinawa, Japan; great grandchildren, Rebecca, Braylea, Adrienne, and Brianna; brother, Elmer Cox and wife, June of Denton; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends; and her canine companion, Prissy.
