Watauga ~ Betty Ann Hamby, 72, a devoted housewife, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, June 22, 2010 in Bedford.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Bridgeport. Interment: East Bridgeport Cemetery.
Elder Larry Webb to officiate. Pallbearers: Bob, David, Russell and Daniel R. Sewell, Walter and Rayburn Brooks.
Betty was born June 7, 1938 to Russel and Rose (Taylor) Brooks in Lampasas County. She married Gordon Miller Hamby August 20, 1971 in Fort Worth. He preceded her in death along with her parents. Betty was also a member of the Indian Oaks Primitive Baptist Church in Fort Worth.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her, daughter Katherine Sewell of Fort Worth; 2 sons David Sewell of Watauga, Bob Sewell and his wife Sandy of Weatherford; 6 grandchildren, Terry, James, Scott, Daniel, Kristen and Russell; 3 great grandchildren, Gabriel, Lily Ann and Autumn; her sister, Katherine Rice of Tyler; 2 brothers, Rayburn Brooks and wife Jean of Richardson, Walter Brooks and wife Kathy of Corpus Christi; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
