Bridgeport ~ Betty Ruth Simmons, 80, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Thursday, August 31, 2017.
Graveside service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Betty was born on May 6, 1937 to W.E. and Sally (Glenn) Rawlings in Vernon, Texas. She was united in marriage to John R. Simmons who preceded her in death April 13, 1987.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; 6 sisters, and 3 brothers.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Johnny Simmons and Elisa VanHoose of Bridgeport; her daughter, Venessa Prater of Wichita Falls; her grandchildren, Sydney Prater and Tabatha Lea Simmons; her great granddaughter, Sadie Simmons; other family other family members and a host of friends.
