Brownwood ~ Betty Joy VanHoose, 81, a retired bookkeeper, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, September 18, 2019 in Brownwood.
Funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Rev. John Franklin VanHoose will officiate. Pallbearers include family.
Betty was born on April 27, 1938 to Benjamin Franklin and Sara Belle (Pearce) Albritton in Bridgeport. She was united in marriage to Cecil Wayne VanHoose Sr., on May 30, 1958 in Bridgeport. Betty was a member of First Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Addie Warner, Doris Galloway, and Ima Anderson; and her brothers, Bill, Ted, and Junior Albritton.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Cecil VanHoose Sr. of Brownwood; her sons, Wayne VanHoose and wife Glenda Kay of Spokane, Washington, and John VanHoose and wife Brenda of Odessa; her daughters, Edith VanHoose of Brownwood, and Marilyn Holland and husband John of Brownwood; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
