Dan Hunt will officiate. Pallbearers include Richard Bodham, Berry Moore, Richard Keir, Clayton Crews, Clint Plumlee, and Gage Varhola.
Betty was born in Enterprise, OK on August 18, 1933, to John and Ada Gray. Betty had two younger brothers and two younger sisters. Betty grew up in Oklahoma, as a child she enjoyed playing many “party games” including spin the bottle. Betty graduated from Quinton High School in 1950.
Betty married the love of her life, Archie Youngblood, on August 17, 1951. Betty had four children, Derrell, Ricky, David, and Susie. In 1954, Betty and her growing family moved to Newark, TX. Betty was a proud mother and devoted wife. Betty spent many years working alongside her husband as a carpenter, while raising four children and maintaining their home. After Betty retired from carpentry work, she became a lunch lady at a local elementary school. Being a lunch lady was more than a job to Betty, it was a calling, she truly loved children.
There are too many memories to share about Betty’s entire life. Her family and friends will remember Betty to be a caring, nurturing, humorous, firm but gentle woman. She loved her family and loved God even more. Betty enjoyed cooking, embroidering, sewing, bowling, and spending time with friends and family. She always appreciated being able to teach others her skills and knowledge. She was the type of woman that would care for others before caring for herself. She will be deeply missed here on earth.
Betty is welcomed home by: husband, Archie; two sons, Derrell and Ricky; mother, Ada; father, John; two sisters Joyce and Vonetta; two brothers, Jerry and Billie; and two great-grandsons Payden and Noah. She will be missed by: son, David; daughter, Susie; grandchildren, Tracy, Nita, Terri, Damon, Melissa, Chris, Tiffany, and Terianna; Nine-teen great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, The McDonald’s Breakfast club, First Baptist Church of Newark, and many more friends and family members.
