Bettye Jeanne Dickenson Rigdon

Chico~ Bettye Jeanne Dickenson Rigdon, 74, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, May 13, 2021 in Grapevine, Texas.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial to follow in Lone Star Cemetery in Chico. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Rev. Gerre Joiner will officiate. Pallbearers are to include Joe Potts, Willy Gasperson, James Hodges, Lynn Clay, Tony Maroney, Daniel Moore, and Grant George.

Bettye was born on February 4, 1947 to Thomas and Vera (Parish) Dickenson in Decatur, Texas. She was a Rancher and worked in Real Estate and Investing for many years. Bettye was a life-long resident of Wise County and was a proud Republican who didn’t mind sharing her political views on occasion. She was a member of the Wise Republican Women’s Group. She was blessed with a giving nature and was involved with numerous charities, among them The United Way of Wise County, CASA of Wise and Jack Counties, and was an avid supporter of Young Life. These organizations were very near and dear to her heart. Bettye loved going dancing at the Springtown Senior Center and she cherished her time with her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Gary Dickenson.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Matthew Lelis Rigdon of North Hollywood, California; her daughter, Stephanie Elaine Sutton and husband Jared of Grapevine; her grandchildren, Elijah Paul Thomas Sutton and Isaiah Lelis Alvin Sutton; numerous extended family members and a host of good friends.
