Betty Tolan Holtkamp

Bridgeport~ Betty Tolan Holtkamp, 91, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in Bridgeport.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial to follow in Thomas Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the visitation at the funeral home.

Rev. Gary Demmitt will officiate.

Betty was born on December 12, 1929 to Andrew Jackson and Lillian Mabel (Schooling) Tolan in Argyle, Texas. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her time taking care of her home and raising her children and grandchildren. Betty was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, and will be missed by all that knew and loved her. She was united in marriage to Frederick Henry Holtkamp on March 27, 1948 in Justin, Texas and spent 49 years together until his passing on October 15, 1997. Betty has been a resident of Wise County since 1983 upon relocating here with her husband Frederick.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Emory Tolan, Theo Tolan, and John Tolan.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Andrew Frederick Holtkamp and wife Celia of Happy Camp, California and David Paul Holtkamp and wife Tammy of Sykesville, Maryland; her daughter Betty Lorraine Wilson and husband Warren of Clarksburg, West Virginia; her grandsons, Andrew Paul Holtkamp, Chris Wilson and wife Joy, and Ryan Wilson and wife Katrina; her great-grandsons, Devin Wilson, Xander Wilson, Aiden Holtkamp; great-granddaughters Courtney Wilson, Zoe Wilson, Kylee Wilson, and Sienna Holtkamp; great-great grandson Gavin Wilson; and great-great granddaughter Raelynn Arnett; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
