Beverly Ann (Bowling) Contakos, 85, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 19, 2023 in Granbury, Texas.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2023 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with burial at Thurmon-Fairview Cemetery in New Fairview.

Pastor Lindsay Luedeker will officiate.

Beverly was born November 6, 1937 in Decatur, Texas to Lawrence L. and Isabelle Annie (Teague) Bowling. She attended Decatur Baptist College and was a member of Waples Baptist Church in Granbury, Texas. Beverly was a life time believer and servant of the Lord, including 10 years of missionary service in Greece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Isabelle Bowling; and her husband of 58 years, Chris Contakos, Sr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Chris Contakos, Jr. and wife Jane of Allen; her daughter, Kimberly Taylor of Granbury; loving “Yia Yia” to 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Gary Bowling, Robby Bowling and Rickey Bowling; 2 nephews, and 1 niece; extended family members and a host of friends.
