Bill G. Arrington

Bill G. Arrington, 82 went to be with his Lord Friday at home. Service will be 10:30 am Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Bridgeport with Dr. Craig Erb and Rev. Gary Demmitt officiating. Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Monday at Hawkins Chapel in Bridgeport. Bill will be laid to rest in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Bill was born on April 2, 1933 to John and Jessie "Huebsch" Arrington in Antioch, Oklahoma. He married Shirley "Ingram" Arrington on January 1, 1956 in Madill, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. For 14 years he was a plant superintendent at Liquid Energy Corporation for Warren Petroleum. Bill was on the Bridgeport City Council in the 70's, was a Mason for over 50 years, and a 32nd Scottish Rite. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister: Jerri Mauk.  Pallbearers include Bill Johnson, Don Younger, Jim Keen, Tommy Denton, Gary Everett, John Arrington, and Blake Arrington. Honorary Pallbearers include Terry Carlton, Robert Burtnett, Dwayne Breshears, and Price Everett.

Those left to cherish his memory are: wife of 60 years: Shirley Arrington, sons: Mitch Arrington and wife Lee Ann and Bruce Arrington and wife Darline, 5 grandchildren: Lindsey Arrington, Emily Arrington, Blake Arrington, Alyssa Arrington, and John Arrington, sister: Jane Purcell.

The Bill Arrington family has requested In Lieu of Flowers that contributions be made to the The First Baptist Church in Bridgeport and Decatur and The Pleasant View Baptist Church.
