CHICO -- Bill P. Cox Sr., 76, a welder, died Thursday, March 2, 2006, in Chico. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel. Bill was born in Chico, Texas, the son of John Q. and Lena (Belew) Cox. He was a farmer and a welder. He married Annie Marie Blevins on August 1, 1964 in Durant, Oklahoma. Bill served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crafton. Survivors: Wife of 42 years, Annie Cox of Chico; sons, Terry Cross and wife, Kathy of Bridgeport, Bill P. Cox Jr. and fiancee, Annette of Chico; daughter, Shelley Boyd and husband, Homer of Aurora; grandchildren, Sheila Barker, Tanya Niccum, Lance Goode, Terry Cross Jr.; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, J.Q. and Jim Cox; sister, Betsy Cox; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
